Current Artistic Vision
SIP creates, workshops and performs one play per year.  We agree that by keeping our work current we connect with our community and encourage dialogue.  We make work that is accessible to a general audience and create performances that are highly physical and entertaining.

We collaboratively create work that celebrates different possibilities through engaging the community in dialogue.  Every year, we attempt to create one new work.  Our immediate goal is to spend nine weeks creating this work in three separate stages:
  1. Training and development
  2. Script creation.
  3. Rehearsal and production.

We also regularly perform in cabarets.  These cabarets are multi-functioning tools in our artistic process:
  1. They keep us developing individual work that is shared within our ensemble.
  2. Some of the work developed for the cabarets seeds into future SIP projects.
  3. Cabarets are performed in a variety of unconventional venues.  These venues continue to artistically challenge the content of our cabarets and introduce us to new audiences.
  4. The regularity of our cabarets keeps us consistently developing new work and continues to remind our audience that we are working.
  5. Our Cabarets are community-building parties that allow locals, visitors and guest artists to celebrate our creative culture in unique environments.

Our vision is to collaboratively create new and inspiring Canadian performances that engage the community in dialogue and are relevant to our current experiences.  It is also our vision to create educational programs for teenagers that teach collective creation and community ethics.  These programs aim to inspire physical activity and performance creation in a supportive and open environment.
